Parents

Dear Parents:

As this school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for working with me this academic year. The students have worked very hard and I am pleased with the success we made in the classroom.

A few reminders before the close of the year, please make sure that your child has their textbook in hand when they arrive on Friday May 16, 2008. (This applies to 8th graders only) If there are any issues with textbooks they must be resolved before the exam can be taken. Please make sure that your child is studying and preparing for the final exam. Last day to make up test will be on Wednesday May 15, 2008.

Books will be taken up on Friday may 16, 2008, therefore it is imperative that all study guides are completed prior to this time. Students are given all class time to complete study guides using textbooks, previous test, and notes. Please encourage your child to complete all study guides so they will be successful on the final exam.

8th Graders will take their History and Science Exam on Monday May 19, 2008 10:10 - 12:10. Students need to report to Ms. Carter's class following their 2nd Period exam.

Because students will be taking their 1st Period and 7th Period exams on Monday May 21, 2008, they will not need to report to Ms. Carter's class on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at 10:10-12:10. In addition, students will not need to remain on campus on Monday May 19, 2008 after 12:10 because their first period exam will be completed.

Congratulations to : Tara Craig & Joel Gann- they are exempt from U.S. History II Exam!!! Way to go.

I hope that your child enjoyed my class this year, I wish to leave you with this thought: Those who cannot learn from History are doomed to repeat it!!

Good Luck and Have an Enjoyable and Safe Summer

P Douglas
